Field Notes
This is a pure mid-iron test. No water, no gimmicks, just a straightforward shot that demands precision.
The green is deep and narrow, and one of the most difficult to putt. Miss left and bogey becomes likely, but missing right is no bargain either.
- Take enough club for the uphill tee shot, especially when the pin is back.
- The green is narrow, so accuracy matters more than forcing distance.
- Short or straight is better than missing left or right.
- If the pin is tucked, buyer beware. Center green is almost always the smart play.
Putting Tips
The toughest putt on #2 is usually the one created by the wrong approach shot. Confirm the pin location before choosing your final target because this green plays like two different putting surfaces.
- Green tiers: The pronounced back plateau creates a clear upper and lower level. If the pin is back, make every effort to get pin high.
- From above the hole: A putt from the upper level to a front pin can gain speed quickly and become difficult to stop.
- Best miss: When the pin is front, staying below the hole is almost always the safest play.
