A Demanding Opener
Right out of the gate, EagleSticks wastes no time showing you what kind of round you’re in for.
The opening hole is a beautiful, slightly dogleg left Par 4 that stretches to 458 yards from the back tee. The best play is up the left side. It gives you the best angle into the green, but don’t get too cozy with that fairway bunker. It’s deep and it punishes the greedy line.
Big hitters can challenge the corner and catch the downslope for a shorter approach, but for most players, two solid shots is the formula.

What is the best tee shot strategy?
Aim up the left side of the fairway. This gives you the best angle into the green and keeps you clear of the deep right-side fairway bunker.
Can I cut the corner?
Big hitters can try to challenge the corner to catch a downslope, but for most players, playing it safe to the fairway is the smarter play.
How severe is the fairway bunker?
It is deep and punishing. Finding it almost guarantees you will be laying up or struggling to reach the green in regulation.
What is the green complex like?
The green is relatively large but undulating. Pay attention to the pin position, as being on the wrong tier can lead to a difficult two-putt.
