A Hole You Won’t Forget
This is a hole that you won’t forget. A creek splits the fairway and many need a good tee shot or they may have to lay up.
Left side of the fairway offers the best chance to play this hole. From there, there’s a hillside that provides a backstop on your second shot. There is no time to take a breath on this hole as each shot requires precision.
Word to the wise, it’s a three shot hole. But occasional brave souls think otherwise. If you make a par here, just smile.

Shawnee Run Creek
Long Downhill
Can I reach this Par 5 in two?
At nearly 600 yards, it’s a true three-shot hole for 99% of players. The risk of the creek usually outweighs the reward of hitting driver off the deck.
How do I handle the creek?
The creek splits the fairway about 150 yards out. You must decide whether to lay up short of it or carry it on your second shot.
What is the slope like?
The fairway is downhill, which adds roll to your drive, but you’ll likely have a downhill lie for your second shot, making it harder to elevate the ball.
Where is the best layup spot?
Favor the left side of the fairway. It gives you the best angle and avoids the trouble that creeps in on the right.
