Short Doesn’t Mean Easy
A great example of short doesn’t mean easy. Even short hitters won’t have much left into this green, but the fairway is tight, and if you miss it, there isn’t a flat lie to be found.
The green is deceptively contoured and quick from back to front. If the pin is tucked, don’t get greedy. Take dead aim at the middle, two putt, and smile walking off with four.
It’s a precision hole, simple, scenic, and a perfect tempo setter for what’s ahead.

Do I need Driver here?
Position is more important than power. The fairway is tight with no flat lies. A fairway wood or long iron often leaves a comfortable wedge in.
What makes this hole tricky?
The lack of a flat lie in the fairway makes the approach shot harder than the yardage suggests. Balance is key on your second shot.
How does the green putt?
It is deceptively contoured and quick from back to front. Staying below the hole gives you the best chance at a one-putt.
Is this a birdie opportunity?
Yes. If you find the fairway, you will have a short iron in hand. It is a great chance to make a score before the tougher stretch ahead.
