The Front Nine Powerhouse
The front nine finishes with a powerhouse. A breathtaking elevated tee shot to a fairway that climbs uphill the whole way. Left off the tee will prove difficult. Right will offer some relief.
A deep narrow green awaits with hungry bunkers to the right. This hole plays much longer than the yardage due to the elevation change, so taking extra club is essential.
First timers will learn quickly here: bogey isn’t a bad score on the number one handicap hole.

Shawnee Run Creek
Elevated Tee/Green
Why is this the hardest hole on the front?
It plays significantly longer than the scorecard indicates due to the steep uphill climb from tee to green. It demands two perfect shots.
Where should I aim off the tee?
The right side of the fairway offers the safest landing area. Anything left is likely dead or in deep trouble.
How much club should I add?
Because of the continuous uphill slope, we recommend taking at least one extra club, possibly two if the pin is back.
Is the creek in play?
Shawnee Run Creek crosses the hole but is generally not in play for the tee shot unless you top it. It mostly frames the bottom of the valley.
